2011年2月25日，美国德克萨斯州沃斯堡，第一架生产型 F-35A“闪电”II 联合攻击战斗机（编号：AF-06）首飞。该机现已属于爱德华兹空军基地，尾标代码亦相应更改，参与系统发展与验证试飞。（The first production-model F-35 Lightning II banks to the right on its inaugural flight near Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas.
