2014年6月15日，马来西亚槟城北海空军基地，美国空军和马来西亚空军联合举办的“飓风对抗-2014”空战演习进行中，参演的美国空军夏威夷空中国民警卫队第154联队第199战斗机中队的 F-22A“猛禽”战斗机（夏威夷，珍珠港，希卡姆联合基地）起飞后大迎脚爬升，这也是“猛禽”战斗机首次部署到东南亚。（A U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor aircraft assigned to the 154th Wing taxis down the runway at Royal Malaysian Air Force base Butterworth, Malaysia, June 6, 2014, prior to the start of Cope Taufan 2014.
