The aircraft keep their engines running while they take on more fuel (similar to an Formula 1 pit stop). This means they can quickly be ready for their next sortie, in this case for a night flight. The Tornado GR4 is a potent Combat Air asset that allows the RAF to project power from the air; they have recently been engaged on operations in Afghanistan conducting Close Air Support and Reconnaissance missions in support of Coalition ground forces.SAC Andy Wright is an RAF Photographer and is currently based at RAF Marham. He is 29 years old and joined the RAF in 2009. His experiences since joining the RAF include flying in various helicopters and photographing HM the Queen.）
