Australia’s elite fighter pilots are battling it out in the skies over the Top End for Exercise Aces North as part of No. 31 Fighter Combat Instructor course. Aces North represents the culmination of the challenging ‘top gun’ course, which sees advanced fighter combat tactics and scenarios played out during the three-week exercise between 30 May until 23 June. The post-graduate course is conducted every two years and provides experienced F/A-18 Hornet Pilots with extensive training in all air combat related roles.）

Up to 30 fast jets performed a Dawn Sweep at RAAF Williamtown as the Air Force’s newest Fighter Combat Instructors returned home from Exercise Aces North. Aces North represented the final four weeks of the challenging Fighter Combat Instructor course that saw the pilots put their newly developed skills into practice and make decisions which will shape the way the Air Force fights in the future. Exercise Aces North was conducted from RAAF Bases Tindal and Darwin from 30 May – 22 June.）
