The personnel are helping the islands local population after the island suffered quite badly after the recent devastation of Typhoon Haiyan. Aid was delivered to the island courtesy of the Merlin Helicopter of 829 Naval Air Squadron and the Sea King from 845 Naval Air Squadron.）
