2001年12月4日，澳大利亚海军第817中队的 “海王”SK50B（MK50B）反潜直升机正在演习中，此型号乃是“海王”SK50 的最终升级款。2011年12月"海王"直升机从澳大利亚海军中退役，取代它的是MRH-90（NH90）海上支援直升机。“海王”直升机自1974年从英国引进开始，已经在澳国海军中服务37年。
