Number 79 Squadron from RAAF Base Pearce will be conducting Exercise Northern Phoenix 2015 (NP15) at RAAF Base Darwin during 1-21 May 15 as part of Number 49 Introduction to Fighter Course. The exercise, which is traditionally held at RAAF Base Learmonth, was diverted to RAAF Darwin at short notice as a result of damage to the airfield caused by tropical cyclone Olwyn in April. Exercise NP15 is part of the training program for Hawk pilots which enables the aircrew to conduct flying to unfamiliar airfields.）
